Her belief in the importance of financial planning was shaped early in life when her father died at 50 with no plan or provisions for the family he left behind. Inspired by her mother’s perseverance, Elke worked hard, becoming fluent in English, Spanish, French, and German. She earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in law, achieving the latter on scholarship at the London School of Economics with a focus on banking and finance. She went on to work as a lawyer with McCarthy Tetrault in London, UK, and Toronto, Canada, before founding Rubach Wealth in 2012.

Elke is a sought-after speaker on wealth management, estate planning, and philanthropy. She helps families get their house in order by bringing clarity and confidence to their financial planning. In addition, Elke is the founder of Fashion Heals for SickKids, which has raised more than $450,000 for pediatric cancer care and research since 2014. She gives back through board and volunteer commitments, including the Professional Advisory Council for SickKids Foundation, the Investment Committee at the Office of the Public Guardian, and the Advisory Board for Transpod Inc.
